We Love Headbands

We are now using headbands that we found out about here from Taylor's mom. We LOVE these! The headbands hold the CIs behind Lily's ear without bending them. No more velcro dots! I added a little flower alligator clip to the headbands for fun. If anyone else is interested in these headbands, email me for the contact information. The woman who makes these is wonderful. Here are a few pictures of Lily wearing the headbands.

Quick update on Lily's progress:

Lily amazes us everyday. A few of the things she is doing now: dancing to music without seeing anyone else do it, saying "uh uh uh" for up up up, says "uh e" for "uh oh" with the correct inflection when she drops something, says "mmm" for mommy, milk, more and "moo" (when she sees a picture of a cow), says "ahhhhhh" every time she sees a picture of an airplane, gives a kiss when we ask for one (without us puckering our lips), claps her hands when she HEARS us sing "Pat-a-Cake" (no modeling from us), waves bye-bye when she hears the phrase (she even waves when we tell her bye-bye on speaker phone).

She's doing many more things, but I just have time for a quick update tonight. We're so thankful for the miracle of cochlear implants.

  1. WOW! Those headbands are awesome! Perfect for little girls. I'm going to share with my blog readers.

Isn't it amazing? The whole CI thing is just amazing. And isn't it so wonderful that you appreciate just how wonderful her development is?! Those that don't almost-have-it taken away, never understand what a gift hearing and communication truly is.

  4. Like the way the CI is hanging on the headband, thereby not being pressed on the head/ears.

We have two boys (brothers) here that both have bilateral CI, and also using the headband.
Cute as it looks on little girls, I noticed that for these boys it is not so cute. More like they are jogging 100% of the time...
We tried it with Lotte but she's so used to having nothing on her ear that she will use it 5 minutes as a novelty and enjopying tje "Ahh" and "oh" and then get back to (her) normal..

  8. We are searching for something to help us keep the coils/processors in place for our very active 9 month old boy. We tried toupee tape but he yanks it off and then it won't stick again. Headbands may not be as cute on a boy but might help so much. Can you please forward the contact info? My email is laura.amodei@gmail.com. Thank you! Laura
